Jessica Chastain and Ben Stiller Join Miniseries The Off Weeks

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Apple TV+ is producing the eight-episode miniseries The Off Weeks, starring and executive produced by Jessica Chastain (George & Tammy) and Ben Stiller (Severance). Michael Showalter (The Idea of You, The Dropout) will direct, while Alissa Nutting (Made for Love) will serve as showrunner and executive producer.
The series follows the life of Gus Adler, a creative writing professor whose world unravels after a divorce. During the weeks when he has custody of his children, he struggles to keep his life together. In the alternating weeks, however, he falls for a mysterious woman who draws him into a deadly encounter.
Stiller and Chastain previously collaborated on the animated film Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted. Showalter and Stiller also worked together on the miniseries The Shrink Next Door.
Most recently, Stiller has been involved with Severance, starring Adam Scott, on Apple TV+. The second season of the series received 27 Emmy nominations and won in eight categories, including Best Actress in a Drama Series for Britt Lower, Best Supporting Actor for Tramell Tillman, and Best Guest Actress for Merritt Wever. Stiller’s next project will be the feature documentary Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost. Chastain, meanwhile, will star in The Savant, premiering on Apple TV+ on September 26, 2025.
